| Jospeh's Coat Thrift Shop Worker |
Joseph's Coat Thrift Shop is owned by Bethany House and all proceeds support our shelters and our clients shop here free of charge. Volunteering at Joseph's Coat involves receiving, sorting, pricing and tagging donated items, running the cash register, interacting with customers, and organizing dressing rooms.

| *Requirements for Volunteer Positions: Submit BHNV volunteer application, pass a background check (costs $16), sign a confidentiality agreement, complete an interview, submit three references and have reliable transportation. Orientation and training will be provided for position. |
GROUP VOLUNTEER PROJECTS
FEBRUARY
Make baskets for our clients for Valentine’s Day. Baskets could include items such as: a box of chocolates, a single rose, lotion, bubble bath, a candle, small stuffed animal, etc.
APRIL/MAY
Make Easter baskets for the children at Bethany house. Baskets could include items such as: chocolate, jellybeans, stuffed animals, small toys, gum, DVDs, crayons, coloring books, etc.
Help with our spring planting.
Make gift baskets for our women. Baskets could include: gift cards, make-up, bubble bath, lotion, jewelry, hair accessories, journals, pens, stationary, etc.
We need help with our Women's Day Dinner. We often need help with food preparation, decorations, set-up, planning of programs, crafts for children, handing out gifts, or clean-up.
JUNE & JULY
Lend a hand with yard work and weeding.
Volunteer for our summer picnic and/or help provide food and activties for this fun summer event.
AUGUST
Supply backpacks loaded with school supplies. Supplies could include: scissors, glue, mechanical pencils, pens, college-rule paper, crayons, colored pencils, protractors, calculators, notebooks, binders, rulers, dividers, etc.
SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER & NOVEMBER
Rake leaves at our various locations.
DECEMBER
Donate brand new items to our Christmas Shop where our clients shop for their children and themselves. Our biggest needs are often gift cards for women and teenagers to stores like: Target, Shoppers, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Old Navy, Best Buy, JC Penney’s, Giant, etc.
We hold a Christmas Party for our clients and former clients each holiday season. We need a group willing to provide and cook a Christmas Party meal for 120 people.
